The Plant of The Week is… Cow’s Tongue!
It has distinct paddle-shaped, polka dotted double leaf growth + a sandpapery feel that earns the common name of Cow’s Tongue. Most Gasteria species grow in summer-rainfall areas, though Gasteria Pillansii thrives in the Western desert-adjacent zone of South Africa. This makes it a rare winter-rainfall adaptation in its family! This is a fascinating, pet safe, succulent! Many people love succulents, but unfortunately, their pets hold them back from indulging. Thankfully, this interesting guy can give you the best of both worlds. Despite its exotic look, this unique succulent is incredibly easy to care for and will regularly reward you with new leaves! Fun Fact: it produces underground runners and they send up baby plantlets at a distance from the main mother plant.
