Our Sustainability Mission

Our Sustainability Journey

When Carly created Bounty from the Boonies she wanted more than just a storefront. She wanted to create a community with a purpose. Every decision made about the store whether it's decor, packaging, or products, is made with sustainability in mind.

A community with purpose

How we're helping

Recycling Plastic Grower Pots

Did you know plastic grower pots are not recyclable? That’s why on every one of our pots we have sticker asking to return the pot to us! We wash and reuse them. It’s our way of making an impact on waste in the plant industry.

Cutting down paper waste

We only do digital receipts so that we reduce paper use wherever possible. And did you know the ink in many thermally printed receipts is carcinogenic! Yikes, who wants that in their pocket.

For shipped orders we reuse packaging and boxes.

Upcycling + Recycling

The majority of our eclectic planter selection is upcycled to save them from landfill and give them new life. We wash and ensure all planters are ready for use. It makes them more affordable for our customers as well.

Reducing Plastic Use

If we can't avoid it altogether we make efforts to limit our use of planstic. We use paper bags and stickers that are made from partially from recycled material and are fully recyclable.

During colder months we have to use plastic to protect our plants when they leave the store but they can be returned to the store for reuse. We are working towards cost effective recyclable options for future.

Keeping it Local

We make as many products as possible in house - ingredients/components are locally sourced, food from our gardens or ontario growers.

We support and promote local crafters’ products for sale at our store. We rely less on imported products.
